Agrofirm "Yuzhnaya" collected more than 100 thousand tons of grapes
The country's largest wine-growing enterprise, the Yuzhnaya agrofirm, which is part of the Ariant group of companies together with Kuban-Vino, has completed the harvest, becoming the leader of the harvest campaign in the Krasnodar Territory.
This year, 108,943 tons of grapes were harvested from a harvesting area of 8,241 hectares with a yield of 132.2 c/ha. 98,892 tons were sent for processing, the rest was sold fresh.
More than 200 units of modern equipment were used for cleaning. Including 30 innovative harvesters, which made it possible to collect berries quickly and as carefully as possible. Immediately after harvest, the grapes arrived at the Chateau Tamagne Oenology Center, where processing was carried out around the clock. The facility's tank farm is one of the most impressive in Russia. The site continues to upgrade equipment and increase capacity.
According to agronomists, the 2023 season was favorable, however, the intense heat that prevailed in the Krasnodar Territory from August to September prevented the achievement of record figures like last year, when the prevailing unique weather conditions made it possible to harvest 113 thousand tons.
“A whole range of measures implemented in the vineyards made it possible to reap a good harvest and minimize losses, including new approaches to soil cultivation and vine care, and maximum mechanization of all processes. We harvested the grapes in a timely manner and in the required conditions, which became the key to the high quality of the future wine,” said Sergei Tarakhno, Deputy General Director of the Yuzhnaya agricultural firm.
Today, Ariant Group of Companies occupies one of the leading positions in the implementation of innovations and actively invests in the latest technologies and the development of vineyards. By the end of autumn, the company will expand the area of its vineyards by 619 hectares. The planting plan for 2024 is 580 hectares. In total, the Yuzhnaya agricultural company now manages more than 13 thousand hectares of land on the Taman Peninsula and near Anapa. The company's share in the total area of vineyards in the Krasnodar region is 32%. The seedlings are provided by our own nursery, which is the largest not only in Russia, but also in Europe. It makes it possible to annually produce 6 million vaccinations and produce more than 3 million seedlings. The share in the production of seedlings in the region is 67%.
