Agrofirm "Yuzhnaya" has started harvesting
The country's largest wine-growing enterprise began harvesting grapes on August 15. Last year, the Yuzhnaya agrofirm harvested 76.6 thousand tons.
Experts say that despite the difficult season, the total gross harvest volume this year will be around 90,000 tons, and the daily harvest will be around 2,500 tons. This is 17.5% more than last year, including due to new plantings.
“High solar activity — a combination of intense light and high temperatures — accelerates the ripening of berries. At the same time, excessive heat at temperatures above +35 °C, especially in drought conditions, inhibits plants. Thanks to the professionalism and strategic approach of the specialists at Yuzhnaya, the harvest has reached good quality, and already at the beginning of the harvest we launched two processing sites: the Chateau Tamagne Oenology Center in the village of Taman and the processing center in the village of Kurchanskaya,” said Maxim Gruner, head of agricultural production controlling at the Yuzhnaya agrofirm.
Harvesting this season began with the ultra-early varieties Platovsky, Solaris, Bianki. The vineyards are regularly monitored for ripening, they are also reliably protected from pests and diseases, and a full range of maintenance work has been carried out.
26 modern high-tech grape harvesters and more than 30 transport units for transporting the harvest and equipment to the factories have been prepared for harvesting. In addition, 4 new Grégoire combines and 12 Belarus-MTZ-82.3 tractors were purchased for the 2025 season.
“Modernization of the equipment fleet is one of the priority areas of development of the agrofirm. Modern machines not only improve the quality of harvesting and soil cultivation, but also optimize logistics and maintenance, which generally increases productivity and contributes to the further development of the industry. The new combines will allow us to optimize the processes associated with the mechanized harvesting of grapes,” notes Alexander Privedents, Deputy General Director for Technical Support.
The lands of the Yuzhnaya agrofirm occupy more than 12,000 hectares on the Taman Peninsula and in the Anapa region. Unique natural conditions are favorable for growing about 60 table and technical varieties.
