The Yuzhnaya agricultural firm took third place in the Loza Rossii 2026 competition in Crimea.
The annual grape pruning competition "Vine of Russia 2026" concluded in Crimea. It was held at the Zolotaya Balka agricultural firm in Sevastopol. Thirty-eight specialists from Sevastopol, the Republic of Crimea, and the Krasnodar Krai, including students from specialized educational institutions, participated in the competition.
The Yuzhnaya agrofirm team took a respectable third place in the team competition, behind the winners, Koktebel Vintage Wine Factory (1st place) and Mriya Terruar (2nd place). This significant achievement confirms the high professionalism and skill of Yuzhnaya's winegrowers.
The competition required completing a complex task: pruning Chardonnay vines using the "double-sided Guyot" system, recognized as one of the most modern and responsible methods of pruning, affecting the quality of the future harvest and wine. Participants were judged according to strict criteria: correct pruning, replacement knot placement, cut quality, and vine cleanliness.
The winners and runners-up received diplomas, cash prizes, and valuable certificates for vine microscopy and innovative vineyard inventory services using clicker technology.
Thus, the Yuzhnaya agricultural firm demonstrated a high level of competence, confirming its contribution to the development of viticulture in the region.
