Agrofirm "Yuzhnaya" harvested more than 76 thousand tons of grapes

This year, the harvested area was 7,920 hectares, the yield was 97.5 c/ha. 75,134 tons were sent for processing, more than 1.5 thousand tons were sold fresh.
The results of the harvesting campaign were affected by the climatic conditions of 2024. Due to the dry and hot summer, some grape varieties ripened as early as the 20th of July, so harvesting began two weeks earlier than usual. All varieties ripened quickly, and in order to prevent the berries from wilting, the rate of harvesting, the number of people and equipment in the fields were increased. 104 units of equipment were used, including 25 innovative grape harvesting combines, which allowed the harvest to be collected quickly and as carefully as possible.

“The quality of the grapes in terms of sanitary conditions was one of the best in recent years. White varieties, for example, Aligote, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, already reveal bright aromas and typical varietal characteristics, and wines from red varieties, we assume, will be dense and structured with the potential for aging,” said Artem Vasiliev, an oenologist at Kuban-Vino. Today, the area of ​​vineyards of the Yuzhnaya agrofirm is more than 9 thousand hectares. During the agricultural year, from October 2023 to September 2024, about 900 hectares of young vineyards of such varieties as Chardonnay, Bianca, Merlot, Pinot Black, Kokur White, Cabernet Franc and others were planted. In total, the agrofirm currently manages more than 12 thousand hectares of land on the Taman Peninsula and near Anapa. The company's share in the total area of ​​vineyards in the Krasnodar Territory is 32%. Seedlings are provided by its own nursery, which is the largest not only in Russia, but also in Europe. It allows for 6 million grafts to be produced annually and more than 3 million seedlings to be released. The share of seedling production in the region is 67%.
